I love tacos! But, I especially love crunchy tacos. This easy recipe has only 3 ingredients, plus any of your favorite toppings that you would like to add to your tacos. Of course, I do like any type of taco, lol, like crispy tacos made from soft corn tortillas fried in a little olive oil. Another family favorite of ours is frying flour tortillas also in a little oil and making chicken quesadillas. Whatever that you decide to make on taco night or like we call it “taco tuesday” this recipe is sure to be a hit.
TIPS!
- The taco meat and cheese help the crunchy tortilla shells to not break and fall apart. Which was a huge surprise!
- Do not let any cheese fall between each taco, because this causes the tacos to stick together. So, a big batch of tacos would be perfect for a huge crowd or a party.
What is in oven baked tacos?
All of these ingredients can be found at your local grocery store, plus remember that you can always add optional toppings or choose a different meat and have for example crispy black bean tacos or cheese tacos. The options are endless, like crispy chicken tacos or fish tacos! Yum!
- ground beef – any type of ground meat can be added to these tacos, for example, ground turkey or ground chicken. Also, a lean ground beef can be used for this taco filling.
- shredded cheese – any type of cheese can be added to these tacos, for example, sharp cheddar cheese
- taco shells
- salt and black pepper
- taco seasoning is optional
- optional toppings of pico de gallo, salsa, hot sauce, avocado, sour cream, lettuce, onion, or roma tomatoes
- beans are also a great idea to add to this recipe. Refried beans or black beans would make these crispy beef tacos delicious.
For this recipe, I let the flavor of the ground beef come thru. In the past, I have added garlic powder, chili powder, onion powder and cumin, which is basically a taco seasoning, but for this recipe I only added black pepper. So you have the option of adding taco seasoning if you would like.
