Where are all of my cookies and cream lovers at? If you love Oreos, then I’m sure that you will love these Cookies and Cream Oreo Brownies! Did I mention that they are double stuffed Oreos?
I have always loved Hershey’s Cookies & Cream bars, they are probably one of my favorite candy bars. And, I’ve always liked Oreos….OK, so maybe I just like everything sweet. Anyway, pair those 2 ingredients with a brownie and OH MY GOODNESS!
Want to know another thing that makes these brownies so good? I used double stuffed Oreos! I mean, come on, who’s counting calories anyways?!
Buying double stuffed Oreos was actually an accident, but I’m glad that it happened that way because who doesn’t love all that creamy filling. You could definitely use regular Oreos though if you prefer.
Now, if you go and scroll down and look at the recipe, you may be thinking that 12 full size Hershey bars is a little bit much….I thought that surely 6 would be enough when I first started. I melted 6 down and poured them on my brownies and it only covered about half of them.
I was so sure that it’d be enough that I only had bought 6 bars. Let’s just say I had to run to the store in the middle of making these brownies (in the pouring rain I might add) to finish them. Let’s just say it was totally worth it though!
I will admit that I used a boxed brownie mix for these brownies because we had one on hand and it was easy to grab it, LOL. I will include my 1 Bowl Easy Brownie Recipe in the recipe card though for those that want to make these completely from scratch.
Also, Note that you will need 2 (6) packs of the Hershey Bars, not just one. I took this picture before I made them and realized that.

Questions about Cookies and Cream Oreo Brownies
Do I have to use a Boxed Brownie Mix? No, you do not. You can use your favorite brownie recipe that you have. I have a great and Easy One Bowl Brownie Recipe HERE that I’m sure you will love and it would work great for this recipe.
Do I have to use Double Stuffed Oreos? No, you could definitely substitute them for the regular Oreos. You just won’t have as much of the creamy goodness, LOL.
How do I store Brownies? They can last about 4 days on the counter, covered. It’s best if they are in an airtight container as they don’t dry out as quickly. If you have a baking dish with a lid, I’d recommend not cutting them all at one time and just cut them as you eat them as they will stay moist longer this way.
Can you freeze brownies? Yes! You can definitely freeze them. Just make sure that they are completely cooled before you are ready to freeze them. You can either stack them in an airtight bowl or plastic baggy with wax paper in between each layer of brownies to prevent them from sticking together. That way you can just grab a couple and thaw as needed.
Should I use a metal or glass baking dish? You can easily use either. I usually use a non-stick metal baking dish for mine. If you do use glass, you may need to increase the baking time by a few minutes.
Tips
- Do NOT over bake! This is probably the most important tip. If you over bake the brownies, they will dry out and not be moist and fudgy. They will continue to bake in the pan even after you take them out of the oven, so you can pull them out just a tiny bit before they are completely done. Bake them until a toothpick inserted in them comes out mostly clean, with just a few crumbs on it.
- It does take a couple hours for the top layer of melted candy bars to firm up. You can let the brownies cool on the counter for like 15-20 minutes and then pop them in the fridge (if your like me and in a big hurry, pop them in the freezer) until they are fully set.
- The brownies themselves do NOT have to be stored in the fridge, you can keep them out on the counter for about 4 days, they are probably best this way.
How to Make Cookies and Cream Oreo Brownies
- Prepare your brownie mix as directed on the package and pour into a 9 x 13 baking dish. I like to put parchment paper in my pans and spray them with cooking spray to ensure nothing sticks. Nothing is worse than your delish brownies sticking to the bottom of the pan.
2. Gently press your Oreos into the top of the brownie batter
3. Bake
4. Once the brownies are baked, break up and add all of your Hershey bars into a medium sized bowl that is microwave safe and microwave until it is completely melted, stirring occasionally. Spread the cookies and cream goodness over the brownies.
Pop the pan into the fridge or freezer for about 40 minutes or until the top has completely set and is hard. Cut your brownies and enjoy!
