BUT, I replaced the butter for coconut oil! A couple of months ago I had to start a dairy free diet, but I wanted some cookies and my first batch was with butter.
Next time, I made these cookies with coconut oil and I could not believe the difference in the taste! These cookies are so soft in the middle, but crispy on the outside! I’ll always make these cookies with coconut oil from now on! YUMMY!
So, I made these sodium free S’mores cookies and I was AMAZED how good these healthy cookies were!

What is S’mores cookie made of? S’mores cookies are a regular cookie recipe, but with chocolate, mini marshmallows and graham crackers added to the recipe.

- Exchange the brown sugar with sugar alternatives
- Exchange the regular chocolate chips with sugar free chocolate chips that don’t have the added sugar
- For low-fat chocolate chip cookies reduce or cut in half the amount of chocolate chips in a recipe
- Always check out the nutritional information of your cookie ingredients, because the nutrition information will tell you how much sugar are in an ingredient.
Can I leave the salt out of my cookie recipe and make any recipe into low sodium cookies? Yes, if you are on a low-sodium diet you can leave the salt out of your cookie recipe and still have delicious recipes.
How can I lower the salt in my cookies? You can either leave the salt out of the recipe completely or you can cut the salt amount in half of a regular cookie recipe.
Is baking powder reduced sodium or baking soda OK for cookies? Yes, you can use a sodium free baking powder. There is one made by Ener-g brand that will work for low-sodium cookies for those individuals who are on a low sodium diet. Usually, I add baking soda to my cookies.
Should I add cream cheese to my cookie recipe? No, this recipe will not need cream cheese.

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- Add a sheet of parchment paper to a baking sheet
- Gather supplies and recipe ingredients
- Take a large bowl and add the room temperature coconut oil, the oil needs to be liquid
- Add to the same bowl: brown sugar and eggs, mix until smooth
- Add the dry ingredients of all-purpose flour, and baking soda, mix well. Keep mixing, because at first it feels dry, but keep mixing until it’s all blended in well.
- Fold in chocolate chips, mini marshmallows and broken up graham crackers – TO COMPLETELY MIX ALL THESE INGREDIENTS IN, I HAD TO ACTUALLY USE MY HANDS AND COMBINE IT ALL TOGETHER.
- Take cookie dough and roll into 1 tablespoon size dough ball or scoop up a tablespoon size with a cookie scoop and place on baking pan lined with parchment paper
- Place the little balls at least 1 inch apart and gently press down a little bit the top of the cookie so they will flatten out.
- Bake for approximately 10 minutes or until golden brown
- Then, place onto a cooling rack and allow to cool
HERE’S A HUGE TIP!!!
The marshmallows disappear during the baking process which is ok and that is how I baked mine! BUT, if you want them to be seen and stay intact, lol, then add some marshmallows to the top right before you remove the cookies from the oven.

- Plus, for the above recipe also leave out the salt and you will have low sodium chocolate chip cookies

- 2 large eggs

- 1/2 tsp baking powder sodium free or 1 tsp baking soda
- 2 cups chocolate chips or chunks
- 1 cup mini marshmallows
- 4 graham crackers (large crackers before you break them apart)
Instructions
