A Kebab, kabob, or kebap or kabab is a dish that is cooked on wooden skewers.
What kind of meat goes on a Kabob?
Any meat can be placed on a kabob, however typically it is beef, chicken or lamb that is cooked on wooden bamboo skewers or metal skewers.
What kind of veggies can go on a Kabob?
- red onions
- cherry tomatoes
- red bell pepper
- green bell peppers
- orange or yellow bell pepper
- yellow squash
- zucchini squash

Do I need a marinade for my kabobs?
You don’t have to have a chicken kabob marinade, but with simple ingredients you can turn boring chicken into a delicious dinner. My recipe is further on down in the post, however, here are a lot of marinade ingredients, but don’t be limited to just these ingredients:
- black pepper
- garlic powder
- onion powder
- red pepper flakes
- lemon juice (lemon zest) or lime juice
- soy sauce
- worcestershire sauce
- brown sugar or a brown sugar substitute
- pineapple juice
- extra-virgin olive oil or cooking oil

- Make your chicken marinade (scroll down for marinade recipe)
- Cut up your boneless skinless chicken breasts into cubes
- Add your chicken breasts to a Zip-loc bag, airtight container or a bowl with plastic wrap.
- Pour the marinate over the chicken
- Refrigerate the chicken overnight or for at least 4 hours
- Cut up your vegetables, place them into a large bowl and toss with a little oil
- Before adding the chicken and veggies to the skewers you will need to soak the wooden kabob skewers in water for at least 10-15 minutes.
- Have a baking sheet or cookie sheet ready for the kabobs.
- Take a skewer and place the marinated chicken and veggies onto it (1 piece of chicken at a time)
- Place onto the pan in a single layer
- Turn grill on medium heat or medium-high heat
- Cooking time is to grill on each side 5-7 minutes or until internal temperature of the chicken is 165 degrees f with a meat thermometer or an instant-read thermometer.
- Remove from grill, place on baking pan and cover with aluminum foil (cover baking pan with a sheet of foil also for easy clean up)
