Saturdays are for baking! This past Saturday, I had decided to make a few new recipes, which I did backwards, because I started with making Chicken and Dumplings and then I made these apple cinnamon fritters and Apple Fritter Bread. So, I had finished the dumplings that morning and here comes Barrett into the kitchen to see if the dumplings were finished, LOL. So, he had chicken and dumplings for breakfast and apple cinnamon fritters for lunch! LOL
I LOVE LOVE it when my kids eat what I cook or when they really like what I cook, LOL. Barrett actually said that the chicken and dumplings were the best that I had made and I make them a lot. Here is my chicken and dumplings recipe – HERE- My chicken and dumplings have only 4 ingredients, less than $1 per serving and cooks in less than 15 minutes! AMAZING!

Actually, any apple will work. On the internet there are a lot of suggests, but when I made this bread I had some Fuji apples that I didn’t want to spoil, because they needed to be ate. My bread turned out perfect with these apples, so any type of apple will work for this bread. And, actually, the internet said not to use Fuji apples, I found this out after I made the bread, HOWEVER, the bread was perfect and I’m glad that I chose the Fuji apples, instead of buying a different apple and letting these go to waste. 🙂

Is apple bread healthy?
Apple bread does have a lot of calories, but there are a couple food exchanges that can be made to make this bread healthier.
- exchange the sugar with honey
- add flax seed or chia seeds
- leave out the powdered sugar glaze and glaze with a maple syrup.
- a powdered sugar substitute can also makes this maple glaze, it is called Swerve confectioners and it is sugar free
Is apple fritter bread healthy? Apple fritter bread keto? Is apple fritter bread low carb?
Hmmmm, this is a tough question, because the batter does contain apples. LOL, And apples are healthy, right? I have tried to make this recipe healthier by replacing the sugar with honey. I love honey and I believe that it is better for us than sugar.
Apple fritter bread is not keto, because the batter is made from white flour and apples are not really keto either, but I suppose an almond flour batter could be made and baked. And, maybe add a fewer amount of apples to help lower the number of carbohydrates. Plus, leave off the powdered sugar glaze or make a glaze with a sugar substitute like Swerve powdered sugar.
