As a stay at home mom I love easy meals that I can toss simple ingredients into a crockpot and let it cook. For some reason the “What’s for Dinner?” question is a never ending question. I sometimes wonder if that question will always be the hardest decision of the day, lol. “Crockpot Parmesan Chicken”

What side dishes to serve with Parmesan chicken?

  • garlic bread or dinner rolls – you can purchase garlic bread or garlic cheese at your local grocery store. However, you can also make your own garlic bread with plain white bread or French bread. Simply spread butter onto the bread, sprinkle with garlic powder, add shredded cheese and bake at 350 degrees f. until cheese is melted.
  • garden salad
  • green beans
  • corn
  • sweet peas
  • broccoli
  • zucchini
  • fried okra

Can I make my own garlic bread?

Yes, you can make your own garlic bread with plain white bread or French bread. Simply spread butter onto the bread, sprinkle with garlic powder, add shredded cheese and bake at 350 degrees f. until cheese is melted.

  • chicken breasts – another option is adding boneless skinless chicken thighs instead of chicken breasts. Be sure to check the chicken thighs for bones.
  • marinara pasta sauce – or any spaghetti sauce will also work
  • water
  • uncooked noodles – add the noodles uncooked to this dish
  • shredded cheese – any kind of shredded cheese will work
  • Italian style Panko crumbs or regular Panko crumbs will work
  • melted butter or melted garlic herb butter, either will work for this recipe
  • garlic powder or minced garlic
  • Parmesan cheese

How to make crockpot Parmesan chicken? (scroll down for printable recipe card)

  1. To your crockpot, pour in the marinara pasta sauce, water and uncooked noodles.
  2. Stir with a wooden spoon
  3. Then add the chicken breasts on top of the sauce and noodles
  4. In a medium size bowl melt the butter and add the panko crumbs, garlic powder, parmesan cheese and shredded cheese and mix with a spoon
  5. Spread this mixture over the top of the chicken breasts
  6. Place lid onto the crockpot
  7. Turn on low and cook for 6 hours

Ingredients

  • 1 jar (23oz) marinara pasta sauce
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup noodles - any kind
  • 2-3 chicken breasts

Topping

  • 4 Tbsp melted butter
  • 2 cups Italian style Panko crumbs
  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 cups shredded cheese - any kind of cheese

Instructions

  1. To your crockpot, pour in the marinara pasta sauce, water and uncooked noodles.

How do I store leftover Parmesan chicken?

Leftover crockpot Parmesan chicken is yummy the next day. You can meal prep the leftovers into individual containers or add them to one large airtight container. To store the leftovers you will simply need to add the cooled leftovers to an airtight container and place them into the refrigerator for up to 3 days or in the freezer for up to 3 months.
