This has got to be the easiest dessert recipe ever! This recipe has only 4 ingredients that are found at most local grocery stores. “4 Ingredient Strawberry Shortcake”

We all need easy and quick dessert recipes. And, this one is so delicious! Plus, you can change the strawberries with other fruits, like blueberries, blackberries, or raspberries.

  • strawberry or the fruit of your choice like blueberries, blackberries or raspberries
  • shortcake or angel food cake. Any type of sweet cake or bread will work for this recipe
  • granular sugar
  • whipped topping or Cool whip
  • optional – any kind of chopped nuts, like pecans, walnuts, peanuts or almonds
  • optional – chocolate syrup YUM!

What kind of fruit can I add to the top of my shortcake?

  • strawberries
  • blueberries
  • blackberries
  • raspberries
  • any pie filling, like apple, peach or lemon

Do I need angel food cake or shortcake for strawberry shortcake?

Actually, either will work for this recipe. Any sweet bread or biscuit will be tasty. It just depends on what your local supermarket has on hand, so be flexible and try any sweet bread. YUM!

  1. You will need a sharp knife, cutting board, medium size bowl, and spoon
  2. Wash and drain strawberries
  3. Cut up the strawberries and add them to the bowl
  4. Pour the sugar over the top of the strawberries and stir well
  5. Place the bowl of strawberries into the refrigerator, stirring every 30 minutes
  6. Refrigerator for approximately 2 hours
  7. Spoon strawberries and its syrup over the shortcake
  8. Add whipped topping and enjoy!
