This recipe has only a couple simple ingredients that can be purchased at your local grocery store.
- breakfast sausage – you can use regular or hot, plus any brand of sausage can be used
- egg
- shredded cheese – choose your favorite shredded cheese
- melted butter
- Bisquick

Is there a keto option for sausage balls?
Yes, simply exchange the Bisquick for almond flour. Use the same amount and follow these same instructions.
What to add to my sausage balls?
- red pepper flakes
- pepper jack cheese
- jalapenos
- chopped cooked bacon or ham

How do I make a 5 Ingredient Sausage Balls? (scroll down for the printable recipe card)
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees f
- Take a bowl and add the raw breakfast sausage, egg, shredded cheese, melted butter and bisquick
- Mix well and form into balls (approximately the size of a walnut)
- Place sausage balls onto a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil or parchment paper. You can also just spray the baking sheet with a nonstick cooking spray
- Bake for approximately 25 minutes
- Enjoy with your favorite syrup or on the side of some scrambled eggs.

- 1 lb breakfast sausage
- 1 egg
- 1 cup shredded cheese
- 2 Tbsp melted butter
- 1 cup Bisquick

How to prepare leftovers!
These sausage balls freeze great! Just pull a few out of the freezer and microwave!
Simply, add the cooled leftovers to an airtight container and place into the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Also, the leftovers can be placed into the freezer for up to 3 months.
