Easy Pineapple Upside Down Cake

This recipe has only a couple simple ingredients that can be purchased at your local grocery store.

  • yellow cake mix
  • butter
  • brown sugar
  • eggs
  • crushede pineapples
  • sliced pineapples
  • maraschino cherries

How do I make an Easy Pineapple Upside Down Cake? (scroll down for the printable recipe card)

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degree f.
  2. Place butter into 9 x 13 baking pan and place it into the oven to melt the butter.
  3. Take a bowl add the eggs, cake mix and crushed pineapples (and juice).
  4. Beat well with hand whisk.
  5. Once the butter is melted, add the brown sugar to it and mix well.
  6. Place slices of pineapples and cherries onto the top of the brown sugar/butter mixture.
  7. Pour the cake batter over the pineapples and cherries.
  8. Bake for approximately 40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Run a knife around the edge of the cake and cool for 5 minutes.
  10. Tip the cake onto a large platter and let it set for 5 minutes until all the juices, etc have dropped down onto the platter.
  11. Let the cake cool completely before serving.
  12. Enjoy!
