Smoked Sausage Queso

This is a recipe that is so easy to make! A PERFECT recipe for any meal time.

The simple ingredient list makes it so easy to prepare and I love that I can find all the ingredients at my local supermarket.

This recipe has only a couple simple ingredients that can be purchased at your local grocery store.

  • Velveeta cheese
  • pepper jack cheese
  • cooked breakfast sausage
  • diced tomatoes and green chilies
  • jalapenos or jalapeno juice
  • milk
  • chili powder
  • cumin
  • garlic powder
  • smoked paprika

How do I make Smoked Sausage Queso? (scroll down for the printable recipe card)

  1. Turn smoker on 250 degrees f or if you use an oven 350 degrees f.
  2. Cook the breakfast sausage and drain any grease.
  3. Take a aluminum foil pan (approximately 11×9).
  4. Dice up the blocks of cheese.
  5. To the pan add the cheeses, cooked breakfast sausage, drained diced tomatoes & green chilies, jalapeno juice, milk, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder and smoked paprika.
  6. Place pan on the smoker or in the oven, uncovered.
  7. Stir every 30 minutes.
  8. On the smoker cook for 3 hours. If cooking in the oven cook until the cheese is completely melted approximately 1 hour.
Yield: 8-10 servings

  • 8 oz pepper jack cheese

  • 1/3 cup of jalapeno juice
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
